PARENT RESOURCES

We support families in building a positive self image by providing a comfortable environment which promotes communication between staff and parents. We also provide training opportunities which provide exposure to a wealth of resources beyond Head Start.
There are many ways parents can be involved with Albina Head Start & Early Head Start. Please speak with your Family Advocate or Classroom teacher for more information.

ALBINA HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START MANDARIN IMMERSION PROGRAM
Albina Head Start and Early Head Start offer the Mandarin Immersion program in McCormack-Matthews Head Start Classrooms A, B and C, McCormack-Matthews Early Head Start Classroom #3, Carolyn Young Classroom #5 and Hughes classroom. We have two Mandarin teachers who work with our Head Start Staff to bring the Immersion Experience to our children.
We also have a partnership with Martin Luther King Jr. School and their Mandarin Immersion Program, so that children who participate in Albina's program are able to continue their Mandarin Immersion at MLK.
Earlier this year, Albina received an invitation from Guiyang Preschool Education College in Guiyang, China. We were invited to send a few staff to help develop a partnership and exchange agreement with the College centered around Albina's Mandarin and STEM programs. Four staff, including our Head Start director, Ron Herndon, just returned from this incredible journey. Check out this great video about their trip!!
